A creator interview can support what the speaker said about their work at that time. To use it well, identify the speaker, read or watch the surrounding section, record the date, and preserve the scope of the statement.
An old interview is not automatically a current account policy.
Start with the original interview
A short clip or search snippet can omit the question that gives an answer its meaning. Follow the accessible original publication when possible and locate the relevant section.
If you can only inspect a snippet, say so in your notes. Do not write as though you reviewed the full conversation. OnlyDetect's editorial policy calls for evidence that actually supports the claim being made.
Check who is speaking. An interviewer describing the creator's business is different from the creator making a direct statement. An agency representative speaking about clients is different again.
Record tense and object
Consider two fictional statements:
I handled all the messages when I started.
I now have support for technical account questions.
The first is historical and broad. The second is current at the time of the interview and narrow. Neither establishes the authorship of every later message.
Also ask which account or project the speaker means. A creator may be discussing a podcast, a social channel, or a campaign rather than their subscription page.
Make a small interview evidence card
Keep:
- The original publication URL and title.
- The publication date and any relevant recording date.
- The speaker and their role.
- The precise topic and time frame.
- A short excerpt or accurate paraphrase with its location.
Use a timestamp for accessible video or audio where available. Do not fabricate one from a search preview.
This card makes the statement checkable without copying the whole interview or detaching it from context.
Compare with current public information
Look for a later biography, FAQ, or explicit update that covers the same role. A newer statement can explain a changed arrangement; different wording alone does not prove dishonesty.
OnlyDetect's methodology keeps observation time and provenance relevant to public profile information. Apply the same discipline to interview evidence.
If current status remains unclear, write “described in a dated interview” rather than “currently managed by.” For an actual correction, use outdated management disclosures.
No interview examples in this guide identify a real creator or establish an agency relationship. The purpose is to read a public statement accurately, not to turn a fragment of conversation into a permanent label.
