OnlyDetect's 30 September 2026 sample had 452 nonempty biographies across 461 eligible records. Among the nonempty biographies, the median stored length was 312.5 characters. Length describes how much text was stored, not whether that text clearly explains a subscription.
We audited length to identify a practical reading problem: directory summaries can be very short or quite long, while neither extreme reliably tells a fan what is included.
The observed length bands
We counted characters in stored biography text and grouped the 461 records into disjoint bands. The dataset and method describe the eligibility rules and observation times.

| Stored biography length | Records |
|---|---|
| Missing or blank | 9 |
| Nonempty and below 150 characters | 125 |
| 150–299 characters | 95 |
| 300–599 characters | 142 |
| 600 characters or more | 90 |
These bands total 461. They measure the directory's stored text rather than the complete current presentation of each platform profile. We did not reproduce biographies or inspect subscriber-only material for this audit.
Why a longer bio is not automatically clearer
A biography may introduce a person, list public projects, describe access, promote a temporary offer, or combine several of those jobs. Character count does not identify which statements are promises or whether important conditions are missing.
To measure clarity, a different study would need a published coding rubric and a review of each relevant statement. For example, it could separately code whether duration, included access, separately priced purchases, and messaging conditions are explicitly stated. Our length audit did not perform that semantic review, so it does not award clarity scores.
Read for decisions, not word count
When you inspect an offer, extract the details that change your decision. Write down what is available during the subscription period, what costs extra, how long a promotion lasts, and what remains unknown. A short sentence can answer one of these questions more clearly than a long promotional biography.
The subscription inclusions checklist provides a structured reading method. If a directory excerpt is cut off, open the current official source before assuming the omitted text has no conditions.
What directory designers should preserve
Summaries should preserve important offer qualifications, and truncation should be visually clear. A summary must not remove a condition and leave behind a stronger promise. If a field is derived from a third-party source, its origin also matters: a directory-written description is not automatically a creator's own statement.
Our methodology explains source precedence and the difference between discovery records and validated public information. The present study adds a bounded measurement of stored text length, not proof that every biography is complete or current.
Limits and next measurements
The sample is selected by OnlyDetect's discovery and indexing process. It cannot establish the average biography length across OnlyFans. A future clarity study must publish its actual rubric and findings; a longer text should never be treated as a substitute for that evidence.
